GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Please note that it is MANDATORY for participants to submit their entries in soft copy format, loaded on a CD/sent as an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. One CD/e-mail must contain one entry only. In case of submitting multiple entries, please load one entry per CD/e-mail. Submission of hard copies is optional.
Number of sheets and requirements for soft copies are as follows:
- Not more than Six A2 sheets per project, including drawings and images / photographs. Sheets must contain name of project and location.
- A project concept note (max 300 words) with area statement and cost of project (OPTIONAL) on one A4 size sheet.
- A CD/E-mail containing
– High resolution PDF files of the work being submitted.
– Photographs in JPEG with minimum resolution of 72 dpi and maximum size of 5 MB. Captions for EACH image must be included on the image itself.
– Project concept note with area statement and cost of project (OPTIONAL). The folder and file names should read abc(own name)/xyz(college name)/mno(year of study).
ALL ENTRIES ARE TO HAVE THE NAME AND CONTACT DETAILS OF THE PARTICIPANT ON THE BODY OF THE CD/E-MAIL. In the subject line of your e-mail, mention your college, year of study and Contact Number. (Eg: IIEST – 5th Year; 9485785792). The organisers will assign a registration number to the entries and make the entries anonymous for the jury. Please note that for reasons of retaining anonymity, the registration number assigned will not be revealed to the participants.
All shortlisted entries in the professional category will be exhibited at the venue for national convention of Indian Institute of Architects, 2015. The exhibition shall be open to public, free of charge. The student awards jury may be conducted separately and results for the same may be announced at a later date.
All submissions must reach us by Midnight (00:00 hrs) of Sunday, April 17th in our mailbox – email@example.com. CDs can be sent latest by 8 pm, Saturday 16th April at the IIA-WB office, the address for the same being:
IIA WB CHAPTER and MULTIWYN may decide to cancel the awards at any point of time without assigning any reason whatsoever.
The jury will comprise reputed architects. Names will be announced at a subsequent date.
The jury will make its award known to responsible IIA WB chapter officials in a formal statement signed by its members. The statement will indicate the number of designs examined and the order of the prizes awarded. Jury’s decision will be final in selection of winners.
If a participant wishes to withdraw from the awards after registration, IIA WB chapter must be informed via email at any time up to one day prior to the date of submission.
All disputes relating to or arising out of the awards shall be subject to the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction at Kolkata, India.
The participants must indemnify IIA, and not hold them responsible for any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgments, expenses or liability (including legal costs) arising out of any dispute in connection with claims, that may be brought in connection with participation in this design awards.
If size-able (as deemed by jurors) number of entries are received from architects in the age group of “below 45″, a special award may be instituted in this category.
A declaration stating that the work is an original creation by the participant and required permissions/endorsement by HOD / Director / Principal will need to be submitted.
Those who have graduated on or after May 2015 are also eligible to participate in the student award category. The participants are required to submit their work from their current year of study or their immediate preceding year of study. Students are expected to participate as individuals.
The best entry in each year of study will be awarded.
